Genie in the Bottle Demo (Chemistry)

A cloud of hot steam rises from a 2 liter pop as we call forth the spirit of Mendeleev using his “cremated remains “(manganese dioxide) which are are dumped into the “spirit activator” (concentrated hydrogen peroxide). Water, oxygen, and a substantial amount of heat are released almost instantly and create the illusion that Mendeleev is rising from the bottle to join your chemistry class.
