General Science Workshops
Science Building Blocks • Grades Pre K-2
Focus: Present basic, hands-on, science ideas to primary grade teachers that can be incorporated into classroom learning centers, demonstrations, and lab activities. The book contains 101 different ideas for the 5 Senses, magnets, sound, astronomy, weather, plants, animals, rocks and minerals, forces, matter, with an introduction to basic science equipment and measurement.

How to Turn Kids on to Science • Grades 3-8
Focus: Present 40 dynamic, hands-on science labs to teachers that they can immediately use in the classroom. Lab safety is introduced at the beginning of the workshop and reinforced through out the workshop. We also model how to set up, manage, and adapt hands-on lab activities while reinforcing the use of the scientific method. Great for science-shy and first year teachers but still provides interesting twists for seasoned veterans.

Materials Provided: 25 lab books and kits.
Length of Time: 5.5 to 6 hours
Maximum Number of Attendees: 95
Parent volunteers and aides are welcome to sit in on the workshop and observe.

Content Specific Science Workshops
Academy Ooh Aah • Chemistry/ Grades 5-9
Dig It! 101 • Geology/ Grades 4-8
DaVinci’s Doodle Pad • Physics/ Grades 4-8
Focus: These are full day workshops intended to beat the rhino snot out of a single topic of science. Each book contains 101
lab activities specific to the title. During the course of the day we will present roughly 40-45 of the ideas, talk about another third
and leave a hand full for you to poke and prod on your own. It is more than enough to completely immerse you in ideas for that topic but not quite enough to put you in the running for the Nobel Prize. Go figure.

Focus:  Each grade level has their own unique set of lab activities that have been selected to match the state standards for that grade and assist with the students preparation for the No Child Left Behind testing.  We typically present all of the lab activities for a specific grade over the course of a full day.  However, we can be flexible and modify the amount of time spent with each group of teachers or present a mix of grade level ideas to pack more into a single workshop day.  Your consultant will work with you to develop a schedule that meets your needs.
These workshops are  offered in two sizes, on a larger scale (25-95 teachers) to an ESC, school district, diocese, or several schools that pool their resources. They can also be offered on a much smaller, individual scale (1-15 teachers) as an on-site workshop for a single school.  In particular, if you choose to purchase classroom kits for different grade level you can use those kits during the workshop to reduce the cost of the training.
